Compatibility Guide
To ensure your order is perfectly suited to your vehicle, please check your current equipment. This steering wheel can be mechanically installed on the following previous generation Volkswagen models:
Golf 7 and 7.5 (MK7 / MK7.5) – Including GTI, GTD, GTE, and R trims
Polo 6 (AW Phase 1) – Including GTI trim
T-Roc (Phase 1) – Including R-Line trim
Tiguan II (Phase 1) – Including R-Line trim
Arteon (Phase 1) – Including R-Line trim
Passat (B8 Phase 1) – Including R-Line trim
How to choose your option when ordering?
Unlike the new generation, these models were sold with two different types of airbags depending on your vehicle's base trim. It is crucial to check your current format:
If you already have a Sport steering wheel (GTI, R, R-Line) with a ROUND airbag: Bare steering wheel purchase: You can keep and reuse your round airbag and original cover to reinstall them directly onto the new carbon steering wheel.
If you have a standard steering wheel with a "shield" airbag (wider/trapezoidal): Your original airbag will not fit into this sport flat-bottom steering wheel. You must absolutely select the option that includes a new round airbag.
Airbag cover option: Regardless of your situation, you have the option to add a new personalized airbag cover to your order if you wish to further enhance your interior.
Important warning about steering wheel controls (Upgrade): If your vehicle does not have original steering wheel controls, or if it is equipped with a different button version, you can technically order the package including new controls. However, we do not guarantee the compatibility or functionality of these buttons for an upgrade (aftermarket installation). Any electronic modification, harness change, or coding attempt (VCDS/OBD11) will be entirely at your expense and responsibility.
